Pie Baking Class: Sky High Lemon Meringue Pie and Classic Pie Crust
DATES: Thursday, August 15th, 17.00-20.15
Class Duration: ca. 3 hours and 15 min.
Language: English, but Danish is spoken and understood!
Place: Skindergade 25, 1159 Copenhagen
Whether you’re a regular baker or barely know your way around the kitchen, this fun and informative class will teach you how to create an American-style “sky-high” lemon meringue pie in a classic pie crust from scratch. You’ll work together with The American Pie Company’s pie experts, who will introduce you to the wonderful, rustic world of pie. Classes are small, for a cozy atmosphere and close assistance.
What you’ll learn:
With a completely hands-on experience, you’ll learn the basics of pie dough, how to make a blind-baked (pre-baked) crust, tart and flavorful fresh lemon curd filling, and mounds of perfect meringue. Includes tips for properly rolling out dough, storing dough, perfect baking, and other pie inspiration.
Class features:
> Savory Pie tasting for a light dinner during class.
> While pies are baking, a Sweet Pie tasting + coffee, tea or cold drink in our café.
> When the class is over, you’ll have a freshly made Lemon Meringue Pie to take home and wow your family and friends! Plus, you’ll have extra pie dough to take home and bake with.
> Recipes home with you.
> Assistance from staff and clean-up, so you can focus on the fun part!
Classes begin on time, so it's a good idea to arrive 5-10 min ahead of the start time! :-)
Participants from 14 years old and up are welcome. Children 11-13 welcome with parent also purchasing a spot.
